When the door release buzzes but the door stays locked, the system may be sending power but the physical release is not clearing the latch. That often points to latch pressure, electric strike alignment, a weak release, a warped door or a closer that pulls the door too tightly into the frame. The sound alone does not prove the release is working correctly.

Test the door carefully with an authorized person pressing release. If the door opens when someone gently pushes or pulls at the same time, alignment or pressure may be part of the problem. Do not force the entrance or leave it unsecured. The repair should address why the release cannot operate normally under regular use.

Look for recent changes around the door. Weather, new flooring, hinge movement, closer adjustment, frame damage or a changed lock can affect the release. In buildings with access control, a relay or power supply may also be weak, causing the release to sound but not move with enough force.

Send photos of the strike, latch, closer, hinges, outdoor intercom panel and any visible power supply. Include the ZIP code and the exact symptom: "buzzes but does not open." 770 Doors & Windows can inspect both the intercom release and the door hardware so the repair is not limited to the wrong component.
